Light Up, Light Up As If You Have A Choice

You’ll never know how I watched you from the shadows as a child
You’ll never know how it feels to be the one who’s left behind

They won't leave in the night, I've no fear that they might desert me
Diamonds are forever

How lucky we are

Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud
Nothing quite like it
For cooling the blood
So follow me, follow
Down to the hollow
And there let us wallow
In Glorious Mud

If you walked past the construction mess around the 'floating stairs' with me, you will have heard me say 'goooooodddd smeeeellll'. the smell of mud. Damp, rich, fresh. The truth is, it reminds me of my childhood. No, this isnt going to be a blog about england, or how much i miss it, or even about a loss of innocence. The truth is, i realized, as the damp, rich, fresh smell of the nearly uprooted mud filled me today, i don't miss my childhood. i wasnt sad that it is over, i didnt miss england, i didn't want to go back. I was just so happy that it happened, i realized that i am so lucky to have a childhood that wonderful to look back on. Most people don't, i mean most at brentwood do, but thats a minority, alot of people don't. the smell of mud brought back such happy images in my mind, memories so wonderful that didnt make me sad, but made me look forward to more happy times. It stuck with me all day, how lucky we are.
